Additions & Alterations
The brief for this project was to create a sunroom area that blended into the already existing home while allowing the option to create an indoor/outdoor feel. Allowing the home to capture the summer breeze and take in stunning rural ocean views from the front door of the home.
The large entertainment area off the sunroom was to be left uncovered so as not to darken the house allowing Natural light to filter in, while providing an outdoor living area that would take in the lush bushland that surrounds.
All materials used for the project were all to match the existing, so it gives the impression that the sunroom has always been there. The existing sliding doors & part of the rear wall of the home were removed from floor to ceiling to create a seamless transition from old to new. The bi-fold doors & louvres on the new sunroom are all 2.40m high creating plenty of natural light & ventilation into the living area. When all three walls are open it creates a spacious area that truly brings the natural surrounds into the home.
From the initial site meeting we were excited to be involved in this project. The view as you walk through the front door is something that needs to be seen to be appreciated in full.
